What the colors mean
- Red on a cusp tip or fossa in MIP is a stop. That is the assignment.
- Red on an incline will drag in laterotrusion and chip ceramic.
- A smear of red across a ridge is a contact that is too broad — grind it to a point.
Mutually protected
Posteriors take the load in MIP. Canines (or anteriors) disclude posteriors in excursion. Group function is a choice. Balanced occlusion is a denture scheme — do not copy it onto a single crown against natural teeth.
Working vs non-working
Move the mandible left: the left side is working, the right is non-working. A molar contact on the right during that movement is a balancing interference.
